Zur Eröffnung der Veranstaltung „Handwerk live“ im Berufsbildungs- und Technologiezentrum Wetzlar rief Bürgermeister Manfred Wagner gemeinsam mit Kammerpräsident Klaus Repp und Kreishandwerks-meister Ralf Jeschke die an der Veranstaltung zur Berufsorientierung teilnehmenden Schülerinnen und Schüler dazu auf, sich mit einer dualen Ausbildung im Handwerk als Perspektive für den weiteren Lebensweg auseinander zu setzen.
Mit seinen rund 120 verschiedenen Ausbildungsberufen – dies reicht von A – wie Anlagenmechaniker bis Z – wie Zweiradmechaniker – bietet das Handwerk als die Wirtschaftsmacht von nebenan vielfältige Perspektiven.
Aufbauend auf der dualen Ausbildung – so auch in der Industrie und der Dienstleistungsbranche – ist es möglich, eine eigene Karriere zu planen. Gerade im Handwerk stehen in den kommenden Jahren viele altersbedingte Betriebsübergaben an. Eingeführte Handwerksbetriebe „warten“ auf motivierte Nachwuchskräfte.
Daher kann ich Schulabgängerinnen und Schulabgänge, gerade auch Abiturientinnen und Abiturienten nur ermuntern, auch die duale Ausbildung für sich als ernsthafte Option zu prüfen.
